How do you teach the first Forró steps to a group of people who have never danced Forró before? In this theoretical and practical workshop, you will learn the teaching techniques to give a successful taster class and have fun in the process. You will learn: how to present Forró as a culture, musical genre, and dance; how to organize the space and the time you have; how to demonstrate basic steps as well as basic movements; what music to use; how to give feedback to the participants; what to expect from the class. After the workshop, we will have time for a roundtable. This workshop is for experienced Forró dancers who have already started, or want to start, their teaching journey.
